Turnout Problem

I have an older power routing switch on my layout.  It is the return switch for a second track off the main route.  The engine will go straight through the switch, but when I turn the switch to the return track the power cuts out.  It only seems to power the track in the one direction.

Are you feeding power from in between the point ends of both your turnouts?
If your power feed is on the frog ends it will cause this.
The old turn outs are power routing and must be feed from the bottom of the" Y".
Move your power feed somewhere in between the bottom of both.
