White Christmas set

Decided to add a loop to my White Christmas set. Picked up a left and right hand manual turnout to do a circular loop within the oval. For the life of me I can't get the track that came with the set to join with the turnouts. Is there a trick or are these incompatible (or am I incompetent)?

Searched for this issue to no avail. Apologies if I've missed it.

Did you buy Bachmann brand steel alloy switches?
They are the only switches fully compatible with the track you get in the White Christmas set.
There are ways to modify the track to work with other brands.

Thanks for the reply.
this is what I bought: http://www.trainz.com/p-200707-bachmann-94351-g-scale-left-hand-manual-switch-track.aspx

Seems like the joiners are not compatible. I can't seem to come up with a different turnout from Bachmann though...
