battery pack for PB11 sound board

The PB11 uses a 3.6V 2/3AAA NiMH battery pack . Will they leak or could they leak . And do I need to remove them If not ran for extended period of time .

Theoretically, all batteries have the potential to leak, so one can't really say these wouldn't. I do think the odds are in your favor, though. I've been using NiCad and NiMH packs for over 20 years. I've had individual cells go bad, but I've never had one leak like alkaline batteries are more prone to do on occasion. I also wouldn't worry too much about removing them. If you wanted to, you could put a secondary power switch between the battery and sound system just to isolate it from the board--just remember to turn it on when you put the loco on the track.

Thanks for the reply Kevin . Don't want to ruin a good thing . Pulled the 9volts batts out of the big hauler set . Right now everythings back in their boxes stored .
