Download JMRI (Free download) and buy the interface cable to connect your computer to your programming track.

Connect the cable to your programming track and the other end into your computer.

Run JMRI and no more caring what CVs do what as JMRI takes care of all that for you.

You just select what you want to change from the drop down menus.

Thanks I was able to lower sound using my Digitrax 400 and changing CV 128. I do have the decoder Pro but there was no overall volume control. That is what came up on reading decoder was Soundtraxx dsd is there a specfic decoder the system should have read? Also if want rule17 what setting to use?
thanks again!

Go to Soundtraxx and down load the manual for their decoders. It's the diesels user guide. This tells hot to program the CV's for various functions. In Decoder Pro,on the top tool bar should be a tab for sound. I believe this is where you find the settings for master as well as individual CV's.  Joe
