The volume on my GP30 is pretty low. If you attach a few cars, the noise of the rolling stock tends to drown out the locomotive sounds. Is there a way to increase the volume?

Hi Bob,

Try going to True Blast II Problems... started by 671 on March 2011. This may help. Joe Satnik has a very good explanation of why it may not sound loud. All of the posts may lead you to a louder sounding Blast unit.

JP of Acton MA, USA writes,

Remove the shell from your loco, and look for something that looks like a small plastic adjustment knob with a slotted head for a flat-blade screw driver. That should be the volume control. Just be careful to turn it a liitle bit at a time, untill you reach the desired volume.

Another option is to design a paper cone to fit around the speaker. Cones usually work very well for sound amplification.

Hope this helps.
