Bachmann does mot sell DCC sound kits, only sound modules. Check the catalog page. Those modules are only for a specific loco.
I would suggest a SoundTraxx decoder with a one inch round speaker.
No idea if this version 2-8-0 is DCC ready or if the tender is ready for a one inch speaker.

Below is a link to a DCC ready and the tender does not have a speaker opening.
A PC board to plug in a decoder. You have to figure out how to install a speaker.
A DCC ready one will have a two pin and a four pin connector between the loco and tender.
Six wires are generally needed.

by tuesday i should have the DCC ready version of this   ill let you guys know if it has a place to put a speaker   and how well it works .    Dave

From what I saw in a Amazon.com review, the loco is DCC ready as a couple people complained about the wires between the loco and tender.
According to the diagram page for the DCC ready, there is no opening for the speaker but we shall see.
By the way, there is an HO forum.

No holes for speaker?

Drill some in the chassis using a 1/8" or smaller drill bit but NOT using an electric drill.  :-)

Use a Dremel Tool on a low speed setting.

If you have to drill holes, you can see in the below link a pattern for the speaker.  Just use one in the center of your tender. The standard speaker is 28mm or 1.1 inches. Some use a oval but that will require a different pattern. Many HO use that size. A lot of stuff is made across the Pond and comes in Metric sizes, today.
Some mount a speaker under the coal load and drill tiny holes in the coal load and put a layer of thin while glue on the coal load and sprinkle coal dust on top of the glue. More advanced modelers tend to do that.

The package is here   the dcc 2-8-0   Silverton Durango   tender has speaker holes    the PC board seems to be in the way, i can see it through the holes.  also the tender has the female end like sound tenders and the loco with the wires   so this info is  for everyone , im glad i waited  till the DCC version came out.  very nice looking  alot better than the photos of it.   the tender is a bit longer than the 2-10-0 deccapod  i was thinking of changing the bottoms out of the tender  that wont work for me so  ill have to cash some more metals to the recycling yard to add sound.   might try the TCS sound  decoder for this with stay alive.  the paying train travelers like to hear the steam loco as well as to ride it.

Rich.  Excellent link for several tips, the main one for me being how to add extra pickup wipers to tender trucks.  This is useful as unfortunately, Bachmann tenders do not pick up power from all eight wheels, only two per side.  This can lead to stalls on smaller engines, like the 2-6-0, when running through DCC switches with dead frogs.

I will, of course, order Frog Juicers but at just under $100/ea, I'll eventually need well over half dozen, so they'll have to wait for now.
