i had a warranty on my spectrum 2-8-0 loco ( the award winning one)
and it had some part of it break
a plug of some sort in between the loco and the tender
warranty is still good so i sent it out to bachmann's service department
does anyone know how long it will take to return?

call me impatient...

Plan on six weeks and a new locomotive.  OTOH, your discussion about the plug leaves some doubt in my mind as to exactly what is wrong.  Is a wire loose from one of the two plugs?  That is the only thing I've seen that can happen to that plug.  They may cite abuse on the part of the owner.

no... no abuse at all
the plug which connects the loco to the tender.
the plastic part  is stuck in the female plug and ripped it out when i carefully took it out.
its not even an internal problem

Always try to see if you can repair it by identifying exactly which parts are broken.  In that case you can just call them up and asks for the parts.  That will take much faster than having the service department fix it for you.  I have been doing self repairs ever since I started, and I always get the parts less than 6 weeks. ;D
