2-8-0 free wheeling drivers

after putting my 2-8-0 on the shelf for a few months, i returned it to the tracks and to my surprise the engine drivers are "free-wheeling" so when power is applied the sound system works but engine does not move. It can be pushed back and forth. Any ideas as to what is going on?

Broken drive gear. Give the service department a call.
