As a matter of curiosity, has anyone ever done a list of the Spectrum releases and approx. time frame?

For example, as I understand it the 2 truck Shay was their first in 199???

Personally, I have this Shay, original Climax (being sold for the later Climax), the 440 and the 280 Connie.  Would love to see the list and time frames?  Personally, I just love these for their detail and performance.  For me it all started with my son's original Big Hauler back in the mid 90's.  He grew up and lost interest, but I stayed attached.  I will have to admit that when running outside from a 20 foot distance, lots of the detail of the Spectrum is lost to me, but when they roll by close it comes back.

Loco Bill Canelos

I have that history, but will be away from my databases for a while.  If I do not respond in ten days please feel free to remind me.  Wade Colyer may also have it and could possibly provde it sooner.

HiMickey, and all

Remember what I am showing you is for your personal use only, and for the use of members of the forum. I have copyrighted my databases, and I would vry much appreciate it if you would not retransmit it to any other forum or provide it to anyone else outside the forum.

Remember not all 1:20.3 items are Spectrum, and some feel that some spectrum items are not 1:20.3.     What I have provided is what Bachmann Trains says it is.

Hopefully I did not miss any.  Let me know

Sorry about the way the info is displayed moving from a database to a print copy never seems to work out neatly.
info in order is

Yes, that certainly is a good deal of work!!  Is there any idea when each was no longer include the catalog?? I am almost positive the outside 2-8-0 (Connie) is not list and no longer advertised in mags, etc.

The only items that I think are missing are the C-19s.

Bob, I do have all the catalog info but in a reference file database which is impossible to list with the above list.

I can usually answer questions about individual locomotives so this is for you.

As for the Connie they appeared in the catalog first in 2002, but as time went on they started disappearing as follows:
81298 &81299 were in the catalog until 2007
81295, 96, & 97 until 2009
81294 was the last one to appear and made it into the 2010 catalog.

Bill, a couple of questions.

I have a Climax, my records indicate that the Bachmann Number is 81181.  Further down the list you have the following listings:

85093   CLLCo   6   2011   ~ Loco   1:20.3 Climax 2 Trk Clear Lake Lumber Co      1
86093   CLLCo   7   2011   ~ Loco   1:20.3 Climax 2 Trk Clear Lake Lumber Co      1

The Clear Lake Lumber Co is the name of my railroad and my Climax and Shay are so lettered, courtesy of Stan Cedarleaf.  Did Bachmann do a CLLCo Climax or is this from the pictures I posted on MLS?

If it is an 81181, is it a first or second generation?

I also have a 38 ton Shay Bachmann number 82198.  Any clue at to it's generation.

I'm curious as to the potential problems that I might have to be worried about.

Thanks,

Chuck

A couple of pictures.

PS Both of these were undecorated when I bought them.

Chuck,
If you look at the database you can see the dates of introduction.
Your old version climax 81181 was introduced in 2000.
Your Shay is the 2004 model

Bachmann did do the two locos you mention factory lettered for the Clear Lake Lumber Company.

The factory lettering is different that the lettering Stan did for you.

There was a real Clear Lake Lumber Company in Western Washington State:

Deleted an infected link See Stan's link below.

I suspect this is where Bachmann came up with the name, maybe the Bach-man could confirm this.

Thanks Bill!

Yes I saw the 81181 in your table.  I guess that the second generation started in 2011.

I had never heard of the CLLCo in Washington.  I guess that there is a prototype for everything.
