EZ track electric problem

I finished setting up my EZ track layout. I'm using DC only and hooked up the power pack to the track. The power pack is receiving electricity but the track apparently is not because the engine won't move an inch. I checked the track junctions and everything looks connected OK. Is there a way to find out what the problem is? Thanks.

Do you have any meters?

You can test the locomotive by touching a 9v battery to the wheels to see if the light comes on and the wheels move, if you get nothing it might be your locomotive.

What is the track layout ? Oval? Circle?

Try just connecting the power to just the track with the Power cord attached hold the loco so it does not run off the end then apply power, if it works check the layout to be sure you aren't creating a short.

Hi RedlegJim,

Be sure the plug is firmly seated into the terminal track,
Then check my reply in this post;

If your lokie is DCC equipped it may take more throttle to see movement, if so then ignore the "50 percent" comment and push that to about 80-85%.

Good luck
