There are three wires attached to the motor.  The green and blue are attached to the terminals, but a white wire is soldered onto the metal body of the motor. What is this wire for?  A ground?

GDS,

I noticed you have no reply's,  and i am thinking it might be because you have not indicated which 2-6-0 you are referring to.  Perhaps you could clarify what Bachmann item Number your 2-6-0 is and maybe post a photo.

Where does the white wire soldered to the motor go to?

We will try to help.

GDS,

I wish I could help but I do not have one.

Can anyone out there with an Industrial Mogul help GDS with his question.  I have no recollection of seeing any white wires or a third wire on any of the Bachmann Locomotives I have worked on.
