Print out some different sizes and see what looks best.

Font sizes and styles will vary all over the place depending on what they are used for. The best thing to do is look at the real thing, then scale your HO example proportionally.

For size on locos, I have 3/32 and 1/8 Woodland Scenics stencils.

jb, I use the Woodland Scenics lettering too. But there's still the problem where some roads using lettering that almost reaches from the top of a hood unit to the walkway. While the lettering on other roads is so small you almost can't read it unless your standing on a loading platform as it goes by.

It would really help if the OP were a bit more specific about what he's looking to use the printing on.

I like them so far Len.  The road I use them for is real, but I take artistic license on the decals.  Sames goes for color scheme.  Rule #1 don't ya know
