2-8-0 bash possibility

Alas, the 2-8-0 doesn't seem to be in production any longer.  I see the boiler/cab/etc. is available in the parts dept.  Has anyone tried to kitbash a Bachmann HO gauge 2-8-0 under this body?  Is it do-able?

I seem to remember somewhere that the Bachmann HO 2-8-0 fits perfect under the On30 2-6-0 boiler.The 2-8-0 is larger and would probably reflect that.

      I have converted the Bachmann 2-8-0  with the 2-6-0 boiler, minor cutting and grinding. The 2-8-0 boiler/cab is about 1&1/2 inches longer,
perhaps a 2-8-2 chassis might work better or boiler shortening would be required.
