Old loco gears

The Folsom Eastern (FE Line) recently acquired a used, early model 0-4-0 Porter -- it has plastic side rods and no backhead detail.  The axle and motor gears are nylon(?) and are stripped and missing teeth, but the motor works and the wheels are in good shape.  Are replacement gears for this older loco available?  If so, is the changeout procedure fairly straightforward?

A) There are no parts.
B) If you happen to get parts from service, consider yourself blessed.

Thos chassis are very old.
Barry has a replacement drive for them.
We shipped the prototype to a LSer for evaluation several years ago, and have not yet received it back for inspection, so I am not sure where he is with it.
IF you can find the later small Porter, it is cheaper to buy the loco and strip out the full chassis.
I have a box of shells that we did that to.

Even if you find old gears, the chances of them lasting are not good.
IF you are original owner with a warranty card on file, maybe they will do something as far as a new chassis if you send it in.

Sorry. BTDT.

Thanks, Curmudgeon. Looks like the Folsom Eastern shops will get their way and turn this one into an unpowered "helper." Of course, there's the radical element behind the shops that want to take it out and "wreck" it!
