Brilliant video. Thank you for posting that. I have 2 things to mention here:
No. 1: How did you may Neville's face?
No. 2: Are the Wagons that Skarloey is pulling, the out of the box models?

Neville's face is from a Trackmaster model. It needed filing down a little at the back, as did smokebox on the Hornby Q1 model I used, to get a flush result. By the time he was repainted and numbered, it's a great model.
And yes, Skarloey is indeed pulling the Bachmann wagons.

So you took Neville's face off a TrackMaster model? How did you re-number the Class Q1 Locomotive that you turned into Neville?
Bachmann Skarloey and his Wagons look amazing! I can't wait to get them, despite it all being too expensive!

I used a stanley knife to prize off the face.
I painted over the decals and the existing number with enamel paint.
I used a transfer to renumber him... Works a little bit like a temporary tattoo with water and friction.

You would in trouble of you cut the fadce in half or something!
Good idea.
So his number is the same number from the TV Series?

I would like to point out that the skarloey range and the peco counterparts us a nem pocket system. This allows you to change knuckle systems to kadee to run with other train car items. When skarloey arrives and I replace the knuckles I will post a youtube video with him running wit a string of gilpin ore cars.

I am surprised Bachmann are using the NEM pocket system on a Thomas & Friends Locomotive.

I do hope that the narrow gauge line sells well so that additional locomotives are produced.
My favorite would be Duke aka Grandpuff.

Sadly prices will not drop down anytime soon, if anything they will only increase. I'll admit that the price for the Skarloey stock is just ridiculous, and I'm not entirely sure why they are that expensive. I know I'll be getting two red vans this year for Christmas (the wrapped presents shaped like Peco boxes under my tree are a pretty big clue
), but that will probably be the only narrow gauge stock I'll get from Bachmann at this time. I can at least understand why Skarloey is so expensive since making the motor as well as the die-cast body for Skarloey would cost a lot of money to produce, and I imagine any other narrow gauge engine following him would be equally as much to produce.
On another note my Bachmann Skarloey is currently shipping from Hobby Linc and the estimated delivery date is tomorrow just in time for Christmas!
