ho scale 2-8-4 light does not work

I just bought the HO scale 2-8-4 item #50949 and the headlight goes not light up. I have read reviews that this locomotive was a little weak and the one I have pulled sixteen cars with no problem and the detailing is well done.

Is the headlight a filament lamp, or an LED?

On many of my Bachmann steam that have been equipped with DCC the headlight and backup light do not work.

It looks like a led light, the reverse light works.

This sounds like it might be a programming problem.  Maybe considering it's new-ness, hence a warranty issue, contact Bachmann.

I got the headlight to work on my 2-8-4.

their is two headlights in the front of the 2-8-4 I have and the wire that connects to the lights was disconnected.
