HO Doodlebug Power Truck

This question has probably been asked before but I am a first time user of the Bachmann Message Board.  I am experiencing problems with the gears in the front power truck and sought a replacement from Bachmann.  This part is no longer available and was directed to this site by the company.  Is there an alternative out there somewhere other than scrapping the railcar?

Northwest Short Line makes a self-contained power truck, the "Stanton" truck.  They come in a variety of wheel base lengths and wheel sizes.  They are a bit pricey, but should last a long time.  Check the on-line catalog.
