Older white/yellow box gp40

Would the shell of one of the older gp40s fit  the chasis of a spectrum gp40?

Question is, WHY you want to do that, given the downgrade in detail, as opposed to investigating the prospect of ordering a current GP40 shell from Bachmann?

Well i have the chasis and runs great i can get the older gp 40 for 6.00 this sunday. The engineis going to be repainted and used as a weathering test bed  and i need a non sound engine to run after people are sleep ing(long story) and the budget is barely existing.
