I have a Bachmann 0-6-0 D&RGW locomotive that is analog.  Is there any way to make it DCC?  How would I do that?

Bachmann's 0-6-0 is not DCC-Ready, so installing a decoder is not easily accomplished. The specifics would depend on which version you have (there have been many different revisions over the years), but basically you would need to isolate the motor from the chassis and then do a wired decoder install.

This is the most recent version (actually a 2-6-2, but the internals are the same as an 0-6-0), and as you can see there's not much room for a decoder. So, it'd probably have to go in the tender.

..........at which point an upgrade to the SPECTRUM tender would be necessary.

DCC in this engine is a pain in the butt. You have to switch tenders (the one it comes with is worthless), and then wire up the DCC decoder after you isolate the motor. I've done it. It's not fun.

Might a Digitrax Z scale decoder like the DZ126T fit in the cab?

Its dimensions are 14x7.13x3.25mm and it does a LOT for such a tiny board.

I installed one in my On30 Mogul's boiler which also has very tight clearances.

Probably not. The motor pretty much fills up the entire cab -

True, but there appears to be some empty space ABOVE the motor.  ;)
