I have purchased a Bachmann sd40-2 dcc on board. milw #133  does anyone know how to open the driver wheels so that they can be lubed?

The exploded diagram for the DCC equiped SD40-2 is here:

You can see the truck covers snap over lugs at the front and rear of the truck. Use a small screwdriver to gently lift the cover end up and over the lug to remove it.

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.

When you remove the body, review the four electrical wires (too short) to the wheels.
The bogies can pull these wires loose from the contacts after making sharp curves.

The train will derail when only one motor is operating, so one might think it's a rail problem.

I also rounded the edges of the plastic bogies, which made contact with the chassis in these sharp curves. Solving the narrowness problem.
