I have a new set. In trying to activate an analog turn out, one end of the red wire attached to the turn out controller requires an additional ac or dc power supply. What is this and how do I activate it?

Traditional controllers have AC accessory terminals, but Bachmann has omitted them from their recent controllers for some reason.

A used cheapo controller will work, or you can use a 12v-16v 'wall wart' power supply for your turnouts.

Go to your local flea market.  One of the tool guy should be able to point you in the right direction.  Or if you're lucky, there's a train guy (mine has one).
