Those low lying weird ducks are certainly meant to go into mines with those low profiles.

And I appreciated the tank engine sequence.  They can be weird ducks too, but some have attractive characteristics, particularly around the smokebox with visored headlights and polished paint jobs.  Most of the engines belonged to private non railroad companies to switch within their facility, and as one can see in the photos , upkeep of these little teakettles could vary widely from proud polish to pure neglect.
