This engine has no standard coupler. The tender has a vertical post that inserts into a slot on the engine.  The tender derails constantly it seems to be due to this unusual coupler.  Any suggestions.  Am I missing a part

I just looked at the diagram of that loco. I use to have one. Nothing missing.
How level is your track?
The pin fits up into a hole in the loco.
On a You Tube video review, I did see the loco take off from the tender. lol
