do remember almost 1 feet of upward track and one feet down ward track for the door side of the wall. so help me to choose.

Are you saying you need to gain and lose a foot of elevation to clear the door?

Then you are going to either have to use a helix, or loop the track back on itself a couple of times along the walls to gain the needed elevation. In HO scale, you'd need about 4 feet of table width on either side of the doorway to accomodate the turnback curves, Same goes for a helix. It can be done, and if you go the turnback curve route you;ll have a nice mountain railroad.

For motive power, i'd go with Diesels. You can hook two or more of them together to get the necessary power for your trains.
