graywolf,

Sid placed the link to the photo between SMF Bulletin Board Code open and close image tag
I am placing the following in a code box so you can see the code.

[img] is the open tag
[/img] is the close tag

Entering the following to display the photo

[img] https://media.fotki.com/2v2HPkBLGx6f34f.jpg[/img]

However, the software automatically adds the default width and height attributes coding. So the code that actually displays the photo you see in this forum is

[img width=1000 height=750]https://media.fotki.com/2v2HPkBLGx6f34f.jpg[/img]

This is code to sized to 500 x 375 and center your  photo

[center][img width=500 height=375]https://media.fotki.com/2v2HPkBLGx6f34f.jpg[/img][/center]

At the risk of really confusing you...

I never use those "img" tags.

I right-click on the photo's url (web address) on the photo sharing website. Then select "copy".

Next, on the forum thread... I right-click where I want the photo.

Select paste.

The photo appears AFTER I hit "post".

Regards,

Jonathan

Jon,

Yep, that should really confuse graywolf because you did not tell him the full content of the "copy".

What you copy is more than the photo's url, the copy also includes the "img" tags. Open one of your post with photo in it and click on  the icon to Insert Quote to see what was actually pasted.

Hunt

Both Flickr and Fotki automatically include the img tags when you use the feature in their website to share a photo in a forum.

I was afraid of that, sorry.

But, like gray wolf, I am not very electronic media savvy. Pretty good with Word and Excel--other mediums are a little mysterious. The only way I manage to post photos here is to memorize some simple steps like "right-click", "copy", and "paste". It took forever for me to figure out there is a "share" button on Flickr. Nothing tells you the curve up/right button means "share".

I get graywolf's confusion. I remember my initial confusion.

Apologies if I made it worse.

Regards,

Jonathan

I'm lucky......my wife has spent 35 years working IT Departments. When I have problems, I ask her ;D.

Mean while back at the ranch...the Lone Ranger disguised in Flickr gets uploaded as a "test picture"...
Tonto, knowing this, copied his link location...

Magic...pure magic....

I still haven't gotten used to the upload to Flickr.  I'm gonna have to practice  a little more.
