Ataching handrails to Spectrum diesels

I've recently purchased two used Spectrum diesels and the handrails were still in their plastic bags. I've worked on the first one and can't get the handrails to stay in the pockets. What's the trick, should I use an adhesive, if so, which one? (Dash 8-40C and Dash 8-40CW.)

Microscale makes a product called 'Liqui-tape'.

It remains sticky so the rails can be removed in the future if necessary.
