Bachmann EMD GP40 DIESEL LOCO CONRAIL #3078

Dear all,

I've purchased the locomotive reference Bachmann EMD GP40 DIESEL LOCO CONRAIL #3078

I open it, there is a H633Y+PCB01 board inside, "DCC Ready"

This is surprising because this is board for GP38-2 model.

I want to use this locomotive on 3rails Marklin. What do I need to do ? especially on the boogies ? is the board compatible ?

I don't think that there is any way to make that work. Not if you want to keep the three rail system operational.

Doesn't Marklin 3 rail use AC current at the motor?

Then you have the issue of making the center pickup shoe and installing it in the trucks.

I may be proven wrong, but my opinion would be not to bother trying.
