hi there
             can anyone throw some light on some information i need

i have a mainline LMS crimson steam locomotive tender inside the tender is the motor i beleive one set of wheels on one side of loco picks up power from track and one set of wheels on the tender picks the other power up whitch them makes the motor turn and push the loco foward but on closer look at tender there is a drive shaft pointing toward the loco does this ring a bell on what i have

Welcome.

I suspect this is a UK loco, not Bachmann. It does sound like the older tender drive Bachmann steamers. I have a couple of them. All the power on the Bachmann tender drive are picked up at the tender. Best I can do. Get your multi-meter out. This is not the best forum.
