I have an oval track with 22 radius ez track curves.  I want to add turnouts at one end of the oval to make another path inside the existing oval.  I have a 2-8-4 locomotive. Which turnouts do I need to do this?

Thank you

Len

To add an inside passing siding to an existing 22" radius loop you would have to use 18" radius curves and either 'Standard' turnouts, or #6 turnouts to match the 18" curves geometry. You will need some short straights to fill the gap to match the 22" curves width.

That said, the recommended curve for the 2-8-4 is 22" radius. So trying to run it through 18" curves could be a problem.

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.
