Looking for help with a Rio Grand Southern #11. when turned on I can hear the motor running but the wheels dont turn.  If I lay it on its side sometime the wheels turn sometimes not.  I can see the white gear moving inside both forward and reverse and varies with turning the rheostat.  This engine is new to me and I know nothing about its operation. Are Operation or repair manuals available.  Not sure how to remove the body from frame to look inside. Thanks in Advance

Did you look at the stickies at the beginning of the forum?

They are there because of FAQs

Yours is probably there, depending on what loco you have.

Hi,
Since you are new here I would suggest you start here and work your way down to the repair tips which should help you repair your locomotive:
