I have a spectrum sd45 DCC installed. I want to replace the factory decoder with a sound decoder, but can't seem to get the shell off. Can someone tell me the trick to removing the shell?

Thanks

Troy

Not exactly sure, but the fuel tank might snap off...

Dear Saw,
That's right- the fuel tank snaps off revealing the screws that hold on the shell.
Have fun!

Thanks, but that didn't work. I removed the fuel tank and removed the only two screws that I saw. These screws are very short and didn't seem to loosen anything but the motor.

Any other suggestions?

Dear Saw,
Possibly the couplers will have to be removed as well...
I'll check at the show this weekend.
Have fun!

Ok, I took the screws out that hold the couplers in, then removed the couplers and their box, but it's still not coming off.  There must be something else holding it together.

There should be two screws in opposite corners of themetal frame that was covered by the fuel tank... ???

I took them out also and it's not coming off.  Is it possible it may have gotten glued?

I finally got the shell off. I just needed to pull really hard.

Thanks for your help.
