question on release date

I recently got a ho-scale Bachmann DeWitt Clinton set. except it's the vintage version. Did anyone know when it first came out?

My records show that the DeWitt Clinton set first appeared in our 1982 catalog and was in the line through 1988. It was reintroduced with E-Z Track included in 1999.
