Train setup

Good afternoon, I am new to model railroading. I am setting up a small display to honor my late Father who worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for over 35 years. The setup is as follows:
1.  A straight track section about a yard long
2. One GG-1 Locomotive and one passenger car (HO scale)
3. I want to power my GG-1 and passenger car.
4. Do I purchase a Bachmann straight track that has the 'Plug and Play' tie-in to deliver power to the engine?
5. I only need a small power transformer. what Bachmann power unit should I purchase since my needs are so minimal?
