Can anyone tell me where I can find the UP DDX40CX. It appears that this unit is no longer in production. It appears in the "Model Railroader" of January 2000. The Item number is 81301.   ???

I want to know what the EZ-Track mininum radious curve support for Bachmann DD40X?

I would not recommend under 22" radius track.

I believe the Spectrum versions are DD40AX's? They have the twin motors etc. As some one indicated don't wast your time on the none Spectrum (DD40X) it is crap. Just keep looking on ebay but let me warn I have seen these things go for over $250.00. If you find a new one for under $150.00, Buy it!!

As a side note, the proper designation for the Centennial is DDA40X, not DD40AX, or DD40X.
No standard DD40s were ever actually built.
Union Pacific ordered DD40s as an upgrade from their DDA35 and DDB35 units,
but by the time they were actually built they were delivered as DDA40X centennial units.

I believe you are correct about the Centennial Units. I was just pointing out that in respect to the Bachmann models, for some reason the older single motored unit is a DD40X and then the Spectrum two motor units are DD40AX. Who knows why?
