I just recently received my first Proto 2000 diesel loco.  I was wondering why I can not get the shell on it.  It almost seems as if something is blocking it.  Any suggestions?
Thanks

Try removing the fuel tanks.  Of course knowing what kind it is might help, too.  You may have to remove the coupler and pocket as well.

It is HO scale, EMD SD9.  All the instructions say is to lower the shell onto the chassis until the grooves (two on each side) line up with the fuel tank.

By the way, it is DCC ready, and I have not put a decoder in it yet.

I had to remove the coupler pockets on my GP 7'S and 9's to get the shells on.

I will try that, but I'm going to be busy the rest of the day.  In the meantime, any other suggestions?
