I got my locamotive back in april of 2003 and have been seeing articles about the PCB being wired incorrectly.  My PCB dosen't look like the second release so I assume it must be the 1st release which they say is wired incorrectly.  I guess my question is is this correct and what is the simplist way to correct it?

Also does anyone have a recomendation on what DCC with sound decoder I should install?  I finally got started on my layout and went with the Bachmann EZ comand system and now I don't know which decoder to use. I have been looking at the MRC-1629 and 1639 decoders but not sure if this is the way to go.

Thanks and I would appriciate any advice you have.

I just tried to install a new MRC Steam Brilliance in a Bachmann 2-8-0 - it doesn't fit.  I've already asked if anybody knows what sound decoder will fit.

Chief Brass Hat
Virginia Tidewater and Piedmont Railroad
"Only coal fired steam locomotives"

GN.2-6-8-0

Most preferr the Micro Tsunami ,small size and outstanding sound.
In the case of the 2-8-0 the medium sound decoder would fill the bill.  ;D

Gene,
Thanks for the info. Was the MRC decoder you tried the 1629 or 1639?

If using the Micro Tsunami what size speaker would you recommend?
Thanks
