D.K. 2-8-0

UH. OH!

I am a newbie and recently retired boomer.

I just bought a spectrum 2-8-0 and a separate medium Vanderbuilt tender
since I like that one best.

Just noticed here that all spectrum tenders won't always interchange?

Will the medium Vandy work with my consolidation?  The UP version uses the medium Vandy, so I thought a simple swap would be OK?

Secondly, my pike under construction is a simple dog-bone affair.  Will
the Digitraxx Zephyr work?

Would the LoKsound 3.5 #82455 be a good sound decoder for plug and play with this arrangement?

Thanks,

D.K.

The medium vandy will work fine with your 2-8-0, you figured correctly.

As to you other questions, I will leave them to those who use sound and DCC, as I do not.

The "Digitrax Zephyr" will work just fine, with any make of decoder.

The decoder however will probably need a little fine tuning to be in sync
with your loco.  It will be explained in the instructions with the decoder.

Have a look at the EZ Command . It is genuinely plug and play and for a newcomer simpler to operate. I have and use one after looking at what else was on the market for small layouts.

Stay with the "Zephyr" you will need to program CV's, "Easy Command" cannot!

The "Zephyr" is a far superior system.

I have a Digitrax Zephyr on a dogbone double track layout.  It works just fine and I have found that the manuals that came with it have very good, easy to understand information.
