Hello
My name is Austin.  I had started this account on here a while back but left it alone since I was being immature and sort of got out of the Model Railroading hobby for a while.  I have started collecting Thomas & Friends but all I have so far is a Hornby Gordon which runs like H-E-Double Hockey Sticks.  I was going to run Hornby but after seeing how Gordon runs I plan to move on with Bachmann.  I was wondering if some people here can show me the ropes so I know what to do.  I'm a bit nervous joining here again since my behavior before made a few members mad, my best friend Justin being one of them. :(

hola.
Don't give up on Gordon just yet.
Did you check it's wheels?
how about track?
If any of those two are dirty, then you most likely have poor electrical conductivity.
simple cleaning of the wheels, and track usually fixes that.
(rubbing alcohol is helpfull in cleaning wheels and track)
If that's not the problem,
get a phillips screw driver, and open it up to expose the gear box.
are the wires connected to the motor?
Is there any lubrication in the gears?
OR
Take it to your nearest hobby shop. They often fix/maintain engines at a decent price.
Better yet,
If you belong to a club, ask a member who has experience with
fixing engine, and ask him if he can diagnose the problem.
And that service is usually free, and very rewarding since you get a good idea on how they work.
Espero que eso te ayuda (hope that helps)
adios,
GB
