I hate to be a pain in the neck, but....

What are the posting rules?  Cause I cannot find them anywhere.  The reason I ask is that there have been a few posts deleated without any reason provided.  So if there are things that we cannot say, then please do say what they are so we will not say them.  And when a post is deleated, could a reason be provided so we know that a line was crossed and know not to go that way again.

Dear All,

I'm guessing that it might not have been the Bachmann that deleted the "need address" post.

First, he's usually on at a different time of the day.

Second, the Bachmann previously has offered explanations for threads/posts deleted.

Hope an explanation comes our way, and that my contribution wasn't out of line.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

It seems to me that some common-sense rules are stretched here, stated rules or not. This is a Bachmann supported board. It would seem to me that postings that are seen as negative toward Bachmanns goals would not be appropriate. This is not to say that problems or issues with items purchased from Bachmann could not be addressed. But a couple of you are consistantly negative about most everything. "I don't have one but I think that they aren't any good", or "I haven't tried to call, but they don't answer their phone". Give us, and Bachmann, a break.

That is true Doug.  I should have meantioned the common-sense thing.  But if a mod is going to delete a post, they should at least notify the poster that they need to stop doing what every they are doing.

Another thing on the rules, I have seen it here on this forum when a new g-scaler asks about another companies locomotive and is.....well....basically assalted (cannot think of the right word) by others about they cannot do that on this forum.  True it should be a given, but if it could be shown in a sticky or something, it would make things easier.

I posted a request for an address for a certain German line, and removed the thread that developed when I got the info I needed.  I figured that someone out here might know--since most of us do not limit our collections (accumulations??) to Bachmann.  gj

Dear Snoq.,
Posts are removed when they get personal, needlessly negative, or contain misinformation or flat-out misrepresentation. Also, using our board to post links to new announcements on another site is bad form. I also try to keep anyone from flaming competitors, since they can't respond.
Stay positive and your posts will stay put.
Have fun!

Dear Bachmann and All,

I just now realized that there is a remove post button (with what looks like a waste-basket icon) that appears at the bottom of an originator's post.

Yeeeow !!!

Could you please put in some kind of warning, and then a choice "Do you really want to remove this post? Yes, No"

Perhaps the warning could be:

"Caution:  If others have replied to your post, they could mistake the deletion of their writing as censorship by the board moderator.

In almost all cases, saving space on the board is not an issue.

If you must remove the (replied to) post, please make another short post identifying the subject line deleted and why you deleted it.  If applicable, thank those that replied."

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik
