Does anybody know if I can install a smoke unit in my spectrum norfolk & western J 4-8-4?  If so, what kind?

RAM

Did you ever think that there is a good reason why Bachmann does not install smoke units in the spectrum locomotives.  The number one reason would be that spectrum locomotives are models and not toys.  #2 no smoke unit look real. #3 What go up cames back down as oil film on everything.  I could list two or three more resons, but if you really want to install one you can.

Tks RAM.  Am aware of the issues you raise but I've got a 9 year old boy who loves the smoke.  Any idea what manufacturer/model I would install?  Where I could instructions as to how to install?

If you insist on this, go find "Many New Products."  He has an after-market smoke unit.  Be advised that while he was a member of Chesapeake Bay Railroaders he never ran one of his modified locos on the club layout or tried to sell any member one of his units, though the club still uses his track cleaning cars.
