How does the On30 coupler uncouple?

Hi On30 people;
How can I set up a position to uncouple my cars?  And how then can they be activated to do so?  Is there an electromagnetic way to do this?  Lastly, if rail height varies by gauge, will this difference cause my cars to uncouple?

Thanks much!

Dear Tom,
Magnetic couplers, like our EZ Mates or Kadees, use a magnet under the track. When the couplers are positioned over the magnet the "air hoses" pull to the sides, allowing you to drop the car.
Have fun!

Hope this helps.

If your loco is too heavy to lift, you'd better be able to ride in, on or behind it.
