I justed received one of the newest versions of the low side gondola. But unlike all of the older versions in my collection, neither the end or side boards will slide out. Is Bachmann now glueing these pieces in place?

Lee,

If indeed they are now gluing the topsides on, it is very bad news. Leaving them as a friction fit just makes a lot more sense, and increases the versatility of the car for no extra cost penalty (it costs extra labor & materials to glue them in place). What about the underframe, does it come with the newer lowered version ((easiest way to tell is to look at the couplers, if the knuckle is centered, it's the lower frame)?

Regards,
Bill

Yep, this car has the lowered frame with the center mounted couplers. Lee
