Dude, it's your money.  You can get whatever engine/rolling stock you would like. :)  Don't ask us what you should get, get whatever you want out of your own free will.

yeah it s your money spent it on something you want :)

True, I would usually do the same thing with my dad sense we have almost the same taste. He always says,"Matthew, get what you want. I am not the one owning it! :D" He loves what I choose. (Snowplow over some freight cars) I like that too but the whole point is what if suddenly you change your mind on what you were told to get? Your not always going to always get a refund! So really you are you,I am me, Santa Fe buff his himself, ETC. So hopefully you get my point. ;)

well it's a good thing i am working this summer, my dad said that i can keep half of what i earned in my wallet and since pay day is about every month or so then i have a lot of money, i try and spend a little at a time but always something important like flex track, ballast, ground turf, foliage, anything like that. but as they said dude, it's your money, spend it on what YOU want.

shining time

yeah if you want you could even get a small starter set and make a small layout with the engines you have. ;) ;) :) :)

From a john bull set (http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/bac/bac00640.htm) to a 8X8 single mainline layout, A starter set gives you the basic things for the right price. Controller, track, train, And freight/passenger cars.
This is how the true Ho scale part of me came out. :) It might have started with 2 old junker sets my mom and my grandpa gave me but it never really got me started. It was more of a pass time than a hobby. :P

Starter Sets are good, but watch out for cheap brands like Life-Like and Tyco. If you shop online alot, and want a good priced starter set, go to http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/. They have really good prices.

yeah be careful when buying online sometimes you might be cheated also don't buy from clearence rack either i had that problem to with a harry potter train set from BACHMANN the coulper kept breaking.
