Bachmann N gauge rolling stock uses which coupler type?

When buying Bachmann locos (steam or diesel) are Rapido couplers installed or some other type?

Incredible as it seems, the online Bachmann catalog does not list which type of couplers are on the product! Why they do not is perhaps merely indifference to being helpful to customers.

Also the rolling stock cars, not just the locos. Are they Rapido?

fieromike

Yes... and no.  The older stock all have Rapidos, but the newer stuff has dummy knuckles.  AFAIK there is no change in catalog #s; you just pays your money and takes your chances.

Depends where you buy your cars. Hobby Lobby can have a mix of both types. A good Etailer may say in the product description.
Newer product will have knuckle couplers.  At HL you can look on the pricetag to see how long the cars have sat on the shelf.

OK, thanks for the tips.

What astonishes me is that the the webstore on the Bachmann homepage doesn't specify which couplers will be on the product that you will receive when you order online.

Surprise! >:(
Surpirse! :D

Dear TW,
All equipment shipped in the last couple of years has had the dummy knuckle coupler.
Have fun!
