Hello !
I've got this beauty apart except for the motor housing.  I can't find any identifying numbers but, from the looks of the PC board, assume the model is 10 yrs old.   It has the original "large" can motor.  I have the parts but want to test the motor before I go any further.   IF I touch the terminals of the motor directly from a DC power pack will I damage / burn out the motor ??
Thanks

I am no "Advanced Tech", whatever that is but whether the loco is controlled by DCC or run on DC, it is still a DC motor right?  ;)

If you test the motor on max 12V DC you won't fry it.
What could be a problem in my experience is if you have a tree pole motor.
They don't run well on DCC.
Nowadays the most motors are five pole and run smoother on DCC and Dc for that matter.
