The O30 2-6-6-2 is my first DCC sound equiped loco. It runs fine but is making an anoying whining sound at times. It sounds like a train going around a tight curve. Is this normal or is something wrong. Thanks in advance.

As Chris said,  the whine could be the generator.   Turn the headlights off and see if the whine goes away.

It is the "brake squeal". When the loco slows down it makes that sound. There are no generator turbo sounds with the Bachmann Tsunami's.

Your are right. F5 activates the dyanamo. The "Soundtraxx" Tsunami's dynamo is activated when the light is turned on.

D-oh!! Should read the instructions.

Thanks
Harold

Edit: Boy that is an annoying sound
