Any thoughts?  I recently received this engine (#11412) and it does not move. The light comes on, I can hear the engine rev up, but no movement.  Also, the 2nd set of wheels are sitting slightly higher than the others (actually off of the rails).....thoughts?

Thanks!

Sounds like you got a used loco... used and used that is--or dropped.

OK, you're getting power which is good.  You will have to open up the loco to assess the damage.  My first guess is that the cogged drive belt is split or broken, but you will have to open her up to look.

There could be a split gear, but I think you would hear more noise if that were the case.

As to the second drive wheelset, does it have some movement up and down?  Could be the wheel spring is damaged or gone.  Opening the bottom plate is not too difficult.

Once yo have the shell and motor assembly off, the wheels will turn and you will better be able to tell what is going on there.

Do you have a diagram of the loco?

Do you need help to disassemble?
