The new locos with dcc  do you have to use dcc or can you run it with regular dc transformer? thanks

Most new locomotives have dual mode decoders that work on analog or digital layouts. Some older DCC locomotives and some sound locomotives do not have dual mode decoders and do not run on standard DC (analog) layouts. Some require switching or programming to operate on standard DC (analog).

Most DCC decoders, and all of Bachmann's DCC decoders, are what's known as dual mode decoders. That means they will determine whether they are being operated on DC or DCC and then function in the appropriate mode.
