Roger,
Don't forget that by late steam times it was often dangerous to stand close to the lip of the pit "...cause if the pilot don't get cha then the tender will..."

SteamGene

Roger, how are you powering your tracks going into the roundhouse?

Roger;
I am converting my Hicken tenders to coal, and have installed the speakers as to be under the coal pile.  Can you shoot me a pic or two of what you did so I can get a couple of ideas.  My thought is to just take some .010 brass shim stock, cut it and roll it to conform.  I'll tell you what I did:  I put a set of Buckeye trucks under each tender, and they give it a really b***sy look; I also changed the couplers fore and aft, to Kadee 58's, and that helps the overall picture a lot for the Santa Fes.  For pickup, I used the trucks and the engine, but may decide to use a set of Tomar pickups.  I like their reliability.  The trucks are marketed by Greenway.
