44 tonner- need help

I got 2 44 tonners for christmas, and both of them have a problem with the trucks not swiveling freely. They are so stiff that they do not turn back to straight after a turn. So my question is this- how can the truck mounts be loosened?

Kevin,
I just looked at one of these.  It appears the trucks hit the coupler pockets so there will be very little swivel in them.  As for no swivel, try a GENTLE pull down of each truck.  They may have been pushed upward in shipping/handling.  If all else fails, send it/them back to Bachmann for repair.  Even new engines may have problems out of the box.

Also bear in mind these engines were built for small radius track on real railroads.

I can't sent them in for warranty since they were gifts, and therefore I have no receipts. I took one apart and put it back together, but didn't change anything-or at least I don't think I did- and it worked a little better. Once the heater in the train room works again I can get back in there and work on it some more.
